Airlines Cancel Hundreds of Flights for Friday

CHARLOTTE, NC– Massive lines at Charlotte-Douglas Airport Thursday night as people tried to fly out ahead of the storm.

American Airlines, Southwest, Jet Blue and several other airlines canceled hundreds of flights in and out of Charlotte Friday. American sent passengers an email offering free flight changes, creating a rush.

“I’ve been through this airport, I can’t tell you how many times over the last 10 to 15 years, and I have literally never seen it like this,” said Harrisburg resident Terry Williams.

Those airlines will resume flights Saturday. Delta and United Airlines plan to continue operating limited flights in the afternoon.
