CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Panthers Pride Rally that was scheduled for Friday afternoon has been canceled due to the winter storm approaching North Carolina.
“After consulting with our public safety partners, we believe this is the best decision for the safety of our players, fans and event staff,” said Adam Rhew, Director of Communications for Charlotte Center City Partners, which was producing the rally in conjunction with the Carolina Panthers and Bank of America.
“We know our fans are excited to cheer on the Panthers this weekend, but the potential impacts of the winter weather that is forecasted to affect Charlotte during the day on Friday presents concerns for the public.”
Panthers fans are encouraged to show their support for the team all day Friday by posting inspirational photos, videos and messages on social media using the hashtag #BlackFriday. The Panthers will share their favorites on the team’s social media platforms.
