Charlotte Passengers Face Winter Storm of Opposition
“He was supposed to be here Friday night, got delayed because of the storm so been a trying few hours for us,” says Jay Cobb.
A frustrating time for passengers leaving and coming into Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
This group patiently waiting for an airmen to make it home on leave.
“Yesterday they told him he would make it Sunday. Thought he was coming in during the Panthers game we were going to be pulled and torn ha,” says Cobb.
We saw crews clearing runways this afternoon. Many still covered with ice.
Inside the airport –passengers like Niya Pitts, rushed ticket counters to book new flights out of the Queen City.
“Coming to the airport, had a flight out this morning 954 to la for work, it was cancelled of course,” says Pitts.
Ashley Carter from Albemarle was stuck in Vegas after his flight was cancelled, making it hard to get back to Charlotte.
“Actually got a flight to Atlanta then had to rent a car in Atlanta and it took me almost 25 hours plus to get to Charlotte from Atlanta with the various conditions on the interstate,” says Carter.
Eventually most did get in or out.. Making for a happy ending as loved ones finally made it home.
“So excited to have him finally come in,” says Cobb.
