Cam Newton is the subject of yet another open letter. This one addressing the unwarranted scrutiny surrounding the star QB. Nation Magazine Sports Editor Dave Zirin calls the criticism: “a racist double standard”.

“It’s a standard that Tom Brady, with his—waving my fan—child out of wedlock, or Peyton Manning, with his buried sexual harassment allegations from college, never had to face,” said Zirin.

Postmedia National Sports columnist Cam Cole agrees. In a recent article, Cole asks this: “If he were Joe Namath or Brett Favre, would you be more likely to write off his cockiness and just love the performance? You don’t have to buy it, but consider it.”
