CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Officers have made an arrest in connection to the double shooting that took place Friday morning in Kings Mountain.
Robert Bridges, 41, of Kings Mountain, has been charged with first degree murder.
The shooting happened around 7:00am Wednesday morning on Mann Court in Kings Mountain. The suspect shot the husband and wife over what officials believe was an ongoing argument over property right-of-way.
The victims have been identified as Myla Oaks, 33, and her husband Jeff Oaks, 54. Officials say both victims had been shot in the head.
Myla Oaks was killed in the shooting, and Jeff Oaks was airlifted to Charlotte in critical condition. Officials also say the couple’s middle-school aged child was in the car at the time of the shooting and witnessed the whole thing.
