GASTONIA, NC– The Gastonia Fire Department was dispatched to a fire that occurred Wednesday morning on Sycamore Avenue.
Firefighters say, when they arrived at Precious Moments Childcare Center they reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of the building.
The fire was reportedly quickly extinguished, resulting in only minor damage to the structure.
An electrical malfunction in a ceiling fan in the bathroom was the reported cause of the fire.
There were no reports of injury and all children were evacuated safely.
