CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A bank robbery in south Charlotte caused a school to go on lockdown.
Police say the Fifth Third Bank on Pineville-Matthews Road was robbed around 10:45 am. Investigators say a man entered the bank, handed an employee a note demanding money and then left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Charlotte Catholic High School was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
The suspect is described as a black male, around 5’7″ tall, medium build and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a green hat.
