Gaston County Police Investigating Armed Robbery

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Officials say a suspect was shot in the leg during an armed robbery and police chase in Gaston County.

The robbery occurred near the intersection of Daniel Drive and McKeuon Rd in Stanley on Sunday around 10:50pm. The suspects used handguns and an SKS rifle to rob the victim of money, narcotics, a pistol and his car keys. He was not injured.

Officers responded and engaged in a pursuit with the suspect vehicle. The pursuit ended in Cherryville, when the suspects fled on foot. Two of the suspects were apprehended and one is still being sought.

Suspect Lavontae Cloud, 16, received a gunshot wound to his lower leg at some point between the robbery and apprehension in Cherryville. Indications are that this may have been an accidental self-inflicted shot.

The second suspect apprehended was Gandre Wash, 22, who has been charged with Armed Robbery and Larceny of a Firearm.
