IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — The body of a missing 4-year-old boy was found late Monday night in a Mooresville pond after crews spent hours searching.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a missing child around 5:45pm Monday afternoon.
Deputies say 4-year-old Cullen Lintzenich had last been seen playing in the yard at 123 Craftsman Loop on his Power Wheels Jeep. That Jeep was then later located in a pond on the property.
Multiple agencies and over 100 members of the community responded to help in the ground search being conducted by Iredell Search and Rescue. CMPD also provided air support while Charlotte Fire Department’s Dive Team searched the pond.
Around 11:40pm Monday night the dive team crews located the body of Lintzenich.
The Sheriff’s Department says this is an ongoing investigation and we will continue to provide updates as this story develops.
