STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — Oakboro Police and the FBI are looking for two men after Uwharrie Bank was robbed this morning.
Police Chief Joe Lowder said the two men went to the Uwharrie Bank in Norwood but it was full of people, so they went to the branch in Oakboro and robbed that bank of an undisclosed amount of money.
Five schools were on lock down as a precaution until 1:00 Friday afternoon: West Stanly Middle, West Stanly High, Stanfield Elementary, Millingport Elementary and Oakboro Elementary.
Lowder says these suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Any info should be forwarded to the Oakboro police at 704-485-4214 or the FBI Field Office.
