BURKE COUNTY, N.C.– Burke County emergency crews responded to the Linville Gorge Wilderness Saturday after a climber fell and was injured.
Officials say the climber fell near Shortoff Mountain. It took emergency crews four hours to reach the climber, due to the rough terrain.
A helicopter was called in to airlift the climber out of the gorge.
No further information has been released at this time.
