ANSON CO., N.C.– An officer at Lanesboro Correctional Institute was assaulted by an inmate Saturday afternoon.
Officials with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety say the incident happened around 1:40 p.m. Saturday. The officer was treated and has been released from the hospital.
The incident is under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
