DURHAM, N.C. (AP) _ Grayson Allen scored 28 points, Luke Kennard added 26 and Duke beat North Carolina State 88-80 on Saturday.

Kennard hit six of the Blue Devils’ season-best 14 3-pointers to help them win in coach Mike Krzyzewski’s return following a one-game, illness-related absence for Duke (17-6, 6-4 Atlantic Coast Conference).

Abdul-Malik Abu had 16 points and a career-best 17 rebounds while Anthony “Cat” Barber _ the league’s top scorer _ finished with 26 points for the Wolfpack (12-12, 2-9). Barber’s layup with 3{ minutes left pulled them to 79-76.

Then came the five-point possession that effectively sealed it for Duke: Brandon Ingram was fouled by Lennard Freeman while shooting a 3-pointer. Ingram made two free throws but missed the third, Kennard chased down the rebound and Allen swished a 3 _ the Blue Devils’ first field goal in 7{ minutes _ to make it 84-76.

Notre Dame rallies to beat No. 2 North Carolina 80-76

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Demetrius Jackson scored 19 points, Bonzie Colson had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Notre Dame rallied to beat No. 2 North Carolina 80-76 on Saturday night.

It was the second straight loss for the Tar Heels (19-4, 8-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

The Irish used an 11-2 run to tie it at 48 on a basket by Jackson with 12:23 left, and the game was close the rest of the way. The Tar Heels closed to 77-76 on a pair of free throws by Marcus Paige with 32 seconds left. But Jackson made a pair of free throws and Steve Vasturia added another to help the Irish hold on.

Zach Auguste added 15 points for the Irish (16-7, 7-4).

Paige broke out of a six-game shooting slump, finishing with 21 points. Brice Johnson had 14 points and 14 rebounds for North Carolina.

Virginia Tech 60, Clemson 57 (F)

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) _ Zach LeDay scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Virginia Tech to a 60-57 victory over Clemson on Saturday.

LeDay made five free throws in the final 30 seconds to help the Hokies (13-11, 5-6 ACC) snap a five-game losing streak.  Jalen Hudson scored nine of his 13 points in the second half and Justin Bibbs added 12 for Virginia Tech.

Clemson (14-9, 7-4 ACC), cut Virginia Tech’s lead to one on two occasions in the final 30 seconds, but LeDay made two free throws after each time to push the lead back to three points.

Clemson’s Avry Holmes made the second of two free throws with 16.7 seconds to go to cut the Hokies’ lead to 59-57. LeDay then made the first of two free throws with 12.4 seconds left to give the Hokies a 60-57 lead. Clemson wasn’t able to get a shot off in the final seconds.

The Tigers, who have dropped two of their past three games, were led by Landry Nnoko’s 17 points. Jordan Roper added 16.

Thornwell, No. 25 South Carolina top No. 8 Texas A&M 81-78

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ Sindarius Thornwell had 25 points and nine assists, helping No. 25 South Carolina beat No. 8 Texas A&M 81-78 on Saturday.

Michael Carrera scored 20 points on 6-for-6 shooting for the Gamecocks (20-3, 7-3 Southeastern Conference), who bounced back from a 69-56 loss at Georgia on Tuesday. Mindaugus Kacinas finished with 11 points.

Danuel House and Alex Caruso had 16 points apiece for Texas A&M (18-5, 7-3), which has lost two in a row and three of four. Jalen Jones scored 14 points.

Ivey takes Gardner-Webb past Presbyterian 69-66 in OT

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) _ Isaiah Ivey sank a 3-pointer with five seconds left in overtime to give Gardner-Webb a 69-66 edge over Presbyterian College on Saturday.

Presbyterian led 66-61 in the extra period when Gardner-Webb’s Dylan Poston tied it up 66-66 on a pair of free throws with 39 seconds to play. Presbyterian’s Reggie Dillard missed a jumper with 15 seconds to go and Ivey grabbed the rebound and nailed the 3-pointer at the other end to give the Bulldogs (13-12, 8-5 Big South) the win.

Harold McBride led Gardner-Webb with 15 points and 10 assists. Poston and Tyrell Nelson added 14 points apiece.

The Bulldogs dominated the first half and led throughout the second until Presbyterian’s Will Adams drained a 3-pointer with four seconds left in regulation, tying the game at 61 and forcing the overtime.

DeSean Murray led the Blue Hose (8-15, 3-9) with 24 points, eight boards and four steals.
