GASTONIA, N.C.– One person was injured in a house fire in Gastonia Sunday afternoon.
The Gastonia Fire Department responded to the fire on South Ransom Street around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival firefighters found the house engulfed with smoke and flames.
The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes.
Fire officials say the home was occupied at the time of the fire but residents were able to escape. One person suffered minor stroke inhalation injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
The fire caused an estimated $45,000 in damages and is under investigation by the Gastonia Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office.
