Report: MKG to Undergo Season Ending Surgery

Hornets forward to have second surgery this season on shoulder.

Michael-Kidd-Gilchrist

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB Charlotte) — According to a report, Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will miss the remainder of the season with a torn labrum.

A Yahoo Sports NBA writer tweeted:

“Sources: After suffering another torn labrum, Charlotte’s Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will undergo shoulder surgery. He will miss rest of season.”

Kidd-Gilchrist initially tore his labrum in a preseason game but returned, earlier than many expected, on January 29. The Hornets went 5-2 in seven games with MKG before he was injured again.  Kidd-Gilchrist averaged 12.7 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game this season.
