Pot Holes Popping Up Around Town
CHARLOTTE, NC– You may have noticed a few more bumps on your way to work recently.Β The recent winter weather could be causing more pot holes to pop up.Β Crews are repairing 7 to 10 potholes a day.
WCCB’s meteorologist Michelle Rotella spoke with NCDOT officials, who say after a big freeze and thaw, potholes become more common.
“When we have rain or snow and ice it can get into the cracks in the pavement. And then when we have a period of freezing, that water can freeze and expand and create that pothole in the pavement.” said Jordan-Ashley Walker
If you see pot holes you can use NCDOT’s new online pot hole reporting system.Β NCDOTΒ has 48 business hours to fix pot holes that are reported to them.
