Witnesses Help Catch Rock Hill Suspect

Rock hill police say 23 yr old Antonio Wylie is no stranger to them.

“Apparently he got in a confrontation with his girlfriend yesterday and forced her into his car at knifepoint and physically assaulted her,” said Capt. Mark Bollinger with the Tock Hill Police.

Witnesses told police they saw the car here at Winthrop Commons Shopping Center at Cherry Rd and Evergreen Circle.

They reported hearing a woman calling for help, saying, “He has a knife, he’s stabbing me.” They say a man was beating a woman inside a Chevy Impala.

Two city workers called 911. Police say the suspect drove out of the shopping complex and down Evergreen Circle into this neighborhood and with it being a nice day out lots of people outside saw the speeding car and were able to give police information to help track down the suspect.

“They told them which way the car went and we actually got a good description plus the plate,” said Capt. Bollinger.

Capt. Mark Bollinger says witness testimony was crucial to tracking down Wylie.

So always pay attention of you witness a crime. “Try to get as much information visual information as you can clothing what did they look like facial descriptions.”, said Capt. Bollinger.

And never hesitate to call 911.

” The people who saw the immediate abduction we should have had a bunch of 911 calls so you need to get on the phone and get us going after that,” said Capt. Bollinger.
