Catawba County Man Charged with Threatening Judge

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A Catawba County man has been arrested after threatening a Lincoln County District Court Judge.

On February 10th, James Robinette, 51, was appearing in Lincoln County Child Support Court being presided over by District Court Judge Jeanette Reeves.

After Robinette’s motion was denied by Judge Reeves he made a statement that “I guess I’ll just have to go get my gun” which was directed toward Judge Reeves. Court Officers detained Robinette until the end of the court session.

Robinette was charged on Thursday with one felony count of Threats against Executive, Legislative, or Court Officer. Bond for the charge was set at $30,000
