House Votes to Move NC Congressional Primary Date
RALEIGH, NC — North Carolina has until Friday to officially approve a new Congressional district map. Thursday, the House voted to push back the state’s Congressional primaries from March 15 to June 7.
The primary date will stay March 15th for the Presidential, Gubernatorial and Legislative elections. Thursday, the state Senate passed a new set of Congressional maps just in time to meet a federal court order. This, after a panel of federal judges found lines for two districts unconstitutional.
The House has to vote on the plan before the weekend.
