UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies say two teens were arrested for having a gun and drugs on the campus of a school in Union County.
Investigators say they received a tip that two suspicious teenagers were sitting in a vehicle in Piedmont High School’s parking lot Monday afternoon.
A deputy allegedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and upon further investigation the deputy discovered a .380 caliber handgun in the vehicle.
The deputy also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Benito Bucio-Sanchez, 17, and a juvenile were taken into custody. Bucio-Sanchez has been charged with possession of a weapon on school property, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
