Tornado Watches Issued As Severe Weather Heads To Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A tornado watch has been issued for parts of North Carolina and South Carolina and will last until Wednesday evening.

Tornado warnings were issued for Catawba County, Alexander County and Iredell County just before 12pm.

A strong line of thunderstorms are moving through the foothills.  WCCB has received reports of downed trees and power outages.  Winds as strong as 30-40 mph have been reported in the Charlotte area.

Severe thunderstorm warnings as well as a tornado warning have been issued in the WCCB viewing area.
