Hit-And-Run Accident Leaves 1300+ Without Power
CHARLOTTE, NC — An early morning hit-and-run accident has lead to hundreds without power and multiple issues on surrounding streets and intersections in west Charlotte.
Thursday morning officials say a semi-truck hit a utility pole at the corner of Bradford Drive and Hovis Road then took off. The accident resulted in downed power lines that have left over 1300 people without power in that area according to Duke Energy.
CMPD says Bradford Drive at Hovis Road will remain closed at least through rush hour as crews work to repair the damages. They also say to use caution at nearby streets and intersections due to malfunctioning lights. Officers have been dispatched to direct traffic in those areas.
