Another Union Co. School Official Retiring

UNION CO., NC– Another top school administrator in Union County is retiring.

A spokesperson for Union County Public Schools says Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mike Webb will retire effective July First.

Superintendent Dr. Mary Ellis announced her retirement last week.

Both were recently cleared in a criminal investigation.

There were allegations that they, along with another school employee, violated Conflict of Interest Laws.

The three formed two companies with the head of public sector sales for Lenovo.

Lenovo had several contracts with the the district to supply Chromebook computers for students.
