Three Charged After Man Dies Playing Russian Roulette

LANCASTER, S.C. — Police have charged three men in connection to the shooting death of a Lancaster man.

Investigators say Brandon Reese was found dead inside a truck off John Everall Road on January 12th.  Detectives determined Reese went with Lakendrick Wade and Quindarreus Johnson to obtain a firearm from Demarcus Foster.

Investigators say Foster handed Reese a .38 special revolver and told him if he played Russian Roulette successfully he would give him the weapon.

Detectives say Reese spun the cylinder once and pulled the trigger with the revolver pointed toward the floorboard of the truck but the revolver did not fire.  That’s when officials say Reese put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.  The weapon fired and killed Reese.

Foster allegedly took the weapon and ran from the scene.  Wade and Johnson reportedly moved Reese’s body to the floorboard of the truck.  Investigators say Wade drove Reese to Springs Memorial Hospital but became fearful and did not stop.  Video surveillance confirmed the truck drove past the hospital, according to a news release.

Wade is accused of driving the vehicle to John Everall Road and leaving Reese inside the vehicle.  Police responded to the scene the next day after someone called 911 to report an unconscious person inside a vehicle.

Wade and Johnson have both been charged with unauthorized removal of a dead body.  Foster has been charged with possession of a pistol by person convicted of a crime of violence, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of a violent felony and possession of a stolen pistol.
