Ted Cruz Rallies Supporters at Super PAC Event in Concord

CONCORD, NC – A big crowd cheered on Ted Cruz as the Republican hopeful made a pit stop at zMAX Dragway in Concord Sunday.

“Our campaign is the only campaign that has beaten Donald Trump over and over and over again,” Cruz told supporters.

The event, sponsored by a Super PAC supporting Cruz, brought together several conservative speakers.

The Texas Senator was joined by former Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina and conservative talk show host Glenn Beck.

Cruz urged his supporters to rally around him as the best alternative to Donald Trump.

But the Republican front runner will get a chance to counter Cruz Monday. He’ll appear at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory.

And much of the focus in the Democratic race will be in Charlotte.

Bernie Sanders will rally supporters at PNC Music Pavillion at 4:30 p.m. Later Hillary Clinton will be at the Grady Cole Center at 7:30.

Back in Concord, Cruz supporters think their candidate is the best to beat Hillary or Bernie.

“I think he says things that he believes and not just what people want to hear,” says Iron Station, NC resident Darrell Hatley.

But they say he still has more to do to get past Donald Trump.

“He has to really step it up. Especially this week,” says Matthews resident Tony Olivas.
