LANCASTER, S.C. — Police have located and arrested a Lancaster man for attempted murder.
23-year-old Markevius Harper is accused of shooting a 21-year-old man outside a home on 14th Street on February 26th.
Officials say Harper, the victim, their girlfriends, and others were at the home when an argument began and led to a physical altercation between the group. Harper went to his car, produced a handgun, and shot the victim in the left chest.
The victim was transported to Springs Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to another medical facility for treatment.
Harper was located in the Charlotte area on March 4th and picked up by Lancaster deputies on March 8th.
Warrants have been served upon him charging him with Attempted Murder, Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature for assaulting his girlfriend and putting the handgun to her head, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm for pointing the handgun at a second female, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
