Bond Denied In Stanly Co. For Couple Caught Burying Body In Alexander Co.

A judge in Stanly County has denied bond for Toni Hearne and Linsey Lentz.

The couple was returned to Stanly County after investigators found evidence that suggested they had killed the man in Albemarle before transporting his body to Alexander County.

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Two peopleΒ caughtΒ burying a dead body in Alexander County now face new charges.

The investigation started when a witness called 911 to report a suspicious vehicle pulling into an abandoned property off U.S. Highway 64-90 in the Ellendale Community.

Both peopleΒ were taken into custody after deputies say they found a dead body partially covered with leaves and boards.Β The victim wasΒ identified as Robert Adam Hearne Jr.

Toni Hearne, 53, and Linsey Lentz, 33, were charged with First Degree MurderΒ and Conceal/Fail to Report a Death.Β Both suspects were deniedΒ bond.

On March 10th, officials executed a search warrant of the victim’s home and determined heΒ may have been killed in Albemarle and transported to Alexander County.

Albemarle police are now taking over this case. Hearne and LentzΒ were transported from the Alexander CountyΒ Jail to the Stanly County Jail and did not receive bond.

Their next court date appearance is March 16th.
