The blockbuster hit we all been waiting for…

 It’s a bird?  No?

It’s a plane?  No?

It’s…….Cats v. Dogs at Animal Care & Control!

We are heading to the red carpet to announce the “purr-miere” of not one, but two adoption campaigns You will not want to miss in the upcoming months, which will find homes for hundreds of shelter animals. Whether you are on team bat-cat or team super dog, we have surprises in store for you of epic proportions!

First we join Team Cat,

We are ready for bat cat fever to come roaring in the form of adorable baby kittens!

In anticipation of finding homes for all these babies beginning on April 13, we are proud to present:

Smitten for Kittens
Adoption Campaign made possible by the

George D. Patterson Family Fund

Foundation for the Carolinas

This campaign promotes the adoption of felines, who are one of the two most at-risk animals in the shelter.  Each year the shelter becomes inundated with felines from April until mid-Summer and then again in the Fall.  We literally find ourselves busting at the seams with kittens.  This year, thanks to grant funding we are able to offer a FREE kit with your CAT!  You adopt a cat or kitten for FREE and get the start-up kit!  Everything you need for a successful adoption, no need to spend extra at the pet supplies store!  We are timing this promotion just in time for the kitten rush!

Now, if you are find you are more for Team Dog, never fear…. Super Pit Pass is here!

That’s right folks, Pit Pass is back on April 4 and better than ever:

Pit Pass II
Adoption Campaign made possible by the

Petco Foundation

This campaign promotes the aadoption of Pit Bull mixes that make up the other most at-risk animal in the shelter.  This breed accounts for on average about 30% of our canine intake.  Often we find that a lot of the Pit Bulls entering our shelter are heartworm positive.   This year, thanks to grant funding we are able to bring back the Pit Pass!  When you adopt a Pit mix, your Pit is up-fit with a pass, everything you need for a successful adoption, and we pay for the heartworm treatments.  No put of pocket medical costs to you.  We are also adding an education piece to this campaign in the form of Heartworm Awareness.  We will be partnering with national veterinary pharmaceutical companies, as well as some local veterinarians for some

Pet Health & Wellness Fairs to share how to keep your pet healthy and safe.
