INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — Police arrested an Indian Trail couple after discovering cocaine, marijuana, and a gun in their vehicle.
Union County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop last night near Indian Trail, resulting in the seizure of more than 14 grams of powder cocaine, several ounces of marijuana, and a handgun.
Shabazz McCarthan, 30, and his wife, Devon McCarthan, 25, face multiple drug charges including Possession with Intent to Sale/Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sale/Deliver Marijuana, and Felonious Possession of Cocaine.
Shabazz McCarthan was previously convicted of Bank Robbery and Providing False Information to the FBI and was released from federal custody last August and sentenced to three years of supervised release.
The two were booked into the Union County Detention Center. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges will be forthcoming.
