Gastonia Fire Sends 4 To Hospital

GASTONIA, NC — Four people were taken to the hospital following a small house fire late Sunday evening.

The fire happened around 10:22pm Sunday night at a home at 618 Ocsceola Street in Gastonia.

Officials found a small fire inside one of the rooms in the home. The residents had tried to put it out, but were unsuccessful. It took crews around five minutes to get the fire under control.

Four people were inside at the time of the fire and were taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Officials say they were suffering from smoke inhalation.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
