Vietnam Veterans Honored For Their Service

SALISBURY, NC– Honoring Vietnam Veterans 50 years after they served our country.

Salisbury National Cemetery hosted the event with Rowan County’s Veterans of Foreign Wars’ Honor Guard.

Veterans stood holding U.S. flags for a 21 gun salute, the playing of ‘taps’ and each received a commemorative pin for their service.

Veterans say it feels good to finally be honored for serving their country.

“It’s a sign of recognition that has been long due but we as far as Vietnam vets we also had pride in brother hood and that’s what we stand beside,” said Vietnam Veteran Bill Pearson

Veterans and their families drove from Mecklenburg and other surrounding counties to take part in today’s ceremony.
