9-1-1 Dispatcher Under Investigation After Sexting On The Job
CHARLOTTE, NC– A CMPD dispatcher is under investigation tonight accused of sexting while on the job. A woman sent WCCB Charlotte a copy of texts she exchanged with that dispatcher.
They start with her asking him for information about a job opening. The conversation turns racy, and both send photos of themselves to one another. But at no point does the dispatcher say sending him nude photos will get her a job.
The larger concern in the texts is that the dispatcher says they are allowed to be on social media, and even watch movies while they’re working.
CMPD sent WCCB Charlotte a statement, saying communications employees can use the internet for work related inquiries, and for personal use during brief down times.
CMPD says it was already working on implementing technology to record and monitor internet activity of tele-communicators.
