TROUTMAN, N.C.– Two men were reportedly charged with assaulting an officer in Troutman.
Offiicals say Thomas Wilson, 22, and Jesse Goins, 21, were passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle that was parked on the side of the road with the engine off.
When an officer approached the vehicle he reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside.
Reports say the two men became very confrontational with the officer, cursing, and would not show any forms of identification.
The confrontation reportedly continued to the point which the two men assaulted the officer and were arrested and taken to jail where they continued to assault deputies.
Goins was charged with felony assault on an officer, injury to personal property and disorderly conduct.
Wilson was charged with assault on a government official and resisting arrest
