City Council Looks For Ways To Pay For More Police
CHARLOTTE, NC– Charlotte City council is trying to figure out how to pay for more police officers, and some members are fighting a proposal from the city manager that would have people who live in apartments help pay for it.
Things got heated this afternoon at a budget workshop.
City Manager Ron Carlee has proposed a plan to eliminate trash pickup for multi-family buildings, which could save the city millions of dollars.
The council could not reach an agreement today and tabled discussion on trash collection for apartments.
