MATTHEWS, N.C. — A man was arrested on Monday after robbing two Matthews restaurants at knife point.
On Monday at 2:13 p.m. police received a call about a hold up at the Pizza Hut located on East Independence Boulevard in Matthews.
As officers were responding to the scene, another call was received about a robbery at La Cancha restaurant located on East Independence Boulevard. Upon arrival, a white male was observed running from this same area.
Officers were able to take him into custody and detain him for identification. After being positively identified by witnesses as the suspect, Eric Zakobielski was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
Zakobielski was reported to have brandished a folding knife, but no injuries were reported from either incident.
