Man Wanted for CLT Homicide Turns Himself In

Police say 22-year-old Antonio Covington turned himself in to authorities Sunday.
Officials say Covington was interviewed by investigators and then transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
The investigation is ongoing and we will update you as new information becomes available.

Officials are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Antonio Covington, 22, who is wanted for the murder of Ernest Cash Jr.
As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives identified Covington as a suspect and obtained a murder warrant for his arrest.
If anyone sees or knows the whereabouts of Covington they are asked to immediately call 911 or contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-VCAT.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two persons of interest for their involvement in a Charlotte homicide.
On Thursday at approximately 3:57 a.m., a male victim was dropped off at Carolinas Medical Center with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The original shooting scene is currently unknown.
On Friday, the victim was pronounced deceased by medical staff as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as 20-year-old Ernest Cash, Jr. His family has been notified of his death.
The persons of interest have been identified as 22-year-old Antonio Covington and 18-year-old Shari Harris. Covington has an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Georgia for a Probation Violation. Harris is known to frequent the Hidden Valley area.
