South Carolina Continues Debate Over Bill Similar To HB2
COLUMBIA, SC– People in South Carolina have another chance tomorrow to weigh in on a proposed bill similar to HB2.
It will be the second day of a State Senate Sub-Committee hearing on the issue.
The majority who spoke today are opposed to the bill, which would require transgender people use the restroom of their birth gender. But some applaud the bill.
The U.S. Attorney told the lawmakers he couldn’t find any case where a transgender person assaulted someone inside a public restroom in South Carolina.
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley says the bill is unnecessary.
