A Deputy’s Cruiser Goes Up In Flames In Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — An investigation is underway after a Mecklenburg County Sheriff deputy’s car caught fire in the Sheriff’s Office parking lot Monday morning.MCSO Car Fire

Charlotte Fire crews were able to get the fire put out but not before the car was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported from the incident and no other vehicles were damaged.

The Sheriff’s Office says no one was inside the car when it caught fire around 6:20am Monday morning. They also say the car has been parked at the Elizabeth Avenue location for a few days.

No word yet on what sparked the fire. Charlotte Fire Department is investigating.
