Virginia Ruling Could Change HB2
A Federal Appeals court says a transgender teen in Virginia can use the bathroom of the gender he identifies with.
The court ruled Gavin Grimm’s high school violated Title Nine Discrimination Policy by forcing him to use the girl’s bathroom or a private restroom.
That law says it’s illegal to discriminate based on sex in schools or other Federally-Funded programs.
The Fourth Circuit Court in Virginia is the same court that handles appeals in North Carolina.
Some legal analysts say the state should follow the same ruling, or lose money.
