STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police have made an arrest after a shooting in Statesville on Tuesday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to Wallace Pass Lane in Statesville where a person had been shot.
After interviewing the victim and witnesses, the suspect was identified as Jeffrey McDade, 57, who had fled the area. Officers located him at his residence in Hiddenite and placed him into custody without incident.
McDade was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and is currently being held in the Iredell County Detention Center.
The victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital to receive medical care.
