2 Charged in Death of Infant Daughter

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged a Charlotte couple with the death of their infant daughter.

On Sunday, at approximately 11:46 p.m., officers responded to the 9300 block of Winter Elm Lane in reference to an infant that was found unresponsive.  Medic immediately transported the victim to Carolinas Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

After investigating, detectives determined that the infant was physically assaulted, which led to her death.

The child’s parents, Basheba Freeman, 21, and Taquan Beecham, 24, were charged with Homicide due to Child Abuse.
