Second Harvest Breaks Ground On Larger Space
CHARLOTTE, NC– The Second Harvest Food Bank held a ground-breaking ceremony kicking off its bigger space today.
The expansion doubles the size of its headquarters on Spratt Street in North Charlotte, allowing for more food storage to feed Charlotte’s needy.
The three year long project cost 11.5 million dollars.
The CEO Kay Carter says their hard work is paying off.
“It’s been fun, it’s been a fun journey, but I’ve got to say I ‘m glad to see this part underway now and the other part behind us.” said Carter
Second Harvest still needs another $500,000 to reach its goal of 8.5 million dollars.
