Registered Sex Offender Arrested for Threatening Officer

BELMONT, N.C. — A convicted sex offender was arrested Wednesday for making threats to a Lincolnton officer.

In 2015, Detective Heavner charged 47-year-old Scott Webb with Soliciting a Minor by Computer for a Sexual Act and Delivering Marijuana. Due to his conviction, Webb became a registered sex offender.

In March and April of 2016, Detective Heavner began to receive threatening emails and voicemails. An investigation determined that the emails and voicemails were being sent by Webb.

Webb has been charged with Communicating Threats, Cyberstalking, and Harassing Phone Calls.
