CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The N.C. Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle they believe was involved in a deadly hit and run early Sunday morning on I-85.
Troopers were called to I-85 northbound near Graham Street after reports of a pedestrian struck around 3:53 a.m.
When they arrived they found a motorcycle with a deflated tire that had crashed. The driver and passenger were both ejected in the crash and lying in the road.
Troopers say the driver was then hit by another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers are looking for a dark colored SUV they believe was involved in the hit and run.
The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Carlos Stewart of Kannapolis.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the N.C. Highway Patrol.
