Police Bust Active Meth Lab In Albemarle

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Police say a disturbance call led them to an active meth lab.  Officers arrived at a home on Bost Street on May 9th and reported seeing a thick, dense fog emitting from the residence.

The home was evacuated and police discovered that methamphetamine was currently being cooked inside the home.  Police say a search warrant was obtained and the SBI was called to the scene to help with processing the meth lab.

Police charged Billy Jo Vanhoy, Lauren Russell and James Dye with maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursors, trafficking meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vanhoy and Russell are in police custody but police are still searching for Dye.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
