Waiting Child: D’Zaria

GREENSBORO, N.C.- In this new Waiting Child story we introduce you to a girl who has many talents and shares a spunky personality.

Meet D’Zaria.  She’s 13 years old and in the 8th grade, but not too excited to enter high school, “I’m very very scared because like so in middle school I was the top everybody was like she’s in eight grade we have to look up to her. Now I’m a ninth grade, it’s like she’s and I’m way down there a freshman.”

D’Zaria is very outgoing.  She’s involved in many extra curricular activities; from dancing, singing, cheerleading, and gymnastics.  Dancing is by far her favorite form of self expression, “I really love the way like I express myself through it.  Even if I’m mad, it lets off steam and dancing makes me feel better.”

With a bubbling personality she also shares that she can be shy at times with people she doesn’t know.  Once she gets to spend time with them she’s ready to have fun and be funny, “I’m more of a zany type of person. I love to get out and have fun, but then I also like to have my space and have some time to alone.”

She gets good grades and loves math and science but she’s still to trying to figure out what she wants to be when she gets older, “I change my mind a lot.  I wanted to be a doctor, a teacher and everything but like I kinda like teaching more because I love little children and they’re cute when they’re really little like really little like 3, yeah 3-5.”
