WOODLEAF, NC — Deputies in Rowan County have arrested the woman they say fatally stabbed a man in his home on Cone Drive.
Deputies say 25-year-old Satonia Gray stabbed 56-year-old Barry Helper, AKA “Mater”, in his home just before midnight Tuesday during an argument. After Gray fled the scene Helper went down the road to his father’s house where he was later found dead in the living room floor.
According to investigators, Gray sometimes stayed at Helper’s home but they do not believe there was any sort of romantic involvement between the two.
Witnesses had seen Gray leaving the home while still holding the knife before getting into her vehicle.
RCSO Investigators, with assistance from the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, later found Gray at an apartment complex in Mocksville, NC. She was arrested while still wearing the bloody clothing. 
Investigators say Gray did confess to the murder, but the investigation is ongoing.
