CMPD Honors Fallen Police Officers
CHARLOTTE, NC– Members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were joined by other local law enforcement agencies today for a special service to honor those who’ve died in the line of duty.
The service was held at First Baptist Church in Uptown.
The annual memorial service is the first since Chief Kerr Putney took over the department.
“I knew quite a few of them, many of which and one in particular was one of my best friends.” said Putney
Since it was first formed, Charlotte’s Police force has lost 30 officers killed in the line of duty.
