Multiple Charges For Student Found With Gun At School In Cornelius

CHARLOTTE, NC — Cornelius Police say the student found with a gun Thursday afternoon at Hough High School will be facing multiple charges.

Hough High’s Principal sent out an alert to parents Thursday saying a student was found with a gun on campus after school was dismissed. Officials were alerted after school by other students about the weapon. The gun wasn’t loaded when officials found it in the student’s locker.

Police are not releasing the students name due to age, but they do say he has been charged with Felony Gun on School Grounds, Resisting Delay and Obstruction, Disorderly Conduct, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of Firearm by a Minor.

CMS officials say the student will also face additional punishments according to the school’s code of student conduct.
