Daniel Hemric Reunited with Go-Kart After 19 Years
STATESVILLE, NC: The heartbeat of racing is sponsorship’s and the almighty dollar. Money wasn’tΒ something NASCAR Truck Series driver Daniel Hemric didn’t have a lot of growing up.
That didn’t matter to his father Brian, who bought Brian a red go-kart when he was three years old for $300. After winning Β 9 out of 10 races at Concord Motor Sports Park, Brian eventually sold it to a friend of his and bought a new one.
The financial pressure of maintaining the vehicles was intense for the Hemric’s, and Daniel needed to win to keep his dream alive. That’s exactly what Daniel did, as he now runs full-time in the Truck Series.
Remember that Go-Kart Daniel and his family sold? Well 19 years after saying goodbye to it, Brian tracked it down from the family friend he sold it to… and bought it back! The return of his old go-kart reminds the Hemric family of just how far they have come in racing.
